Nanyang Polytechnic student with hands-on experience in vulnerability management and system hardening at ST Engineering. Building towards a career in cybersecurity.
I'm an ICT student at Nanyang Polytechnic, currently focused on cybersecurity and networking. Before NYP, I studied Electronics Engineering at ITE College Central — which gave me a solid hardware and systems foundation I now apply to security work.
I spent 8 months at ST Engineering as an Information Security Intern — running vulnerability assessments with Tenable Nessus, hardening enterprise systems, and documenting compliance evidence for internal audits. My first real look at how security works in practice, not just in theory.
Outside of school I practice on HackTheBox, TryHackMe, and OverTheWire, working through networking and Linux challenges. I also watch YouTube channels and follow tech communities to stay current on new tools, ideas, and inspiration. I find that actually breaking things is the fastest way to understand how to protect them. I document everything on Medium and Substack.
